Puerto Rico
Project History
Since 1998, Torcon has completed more than 70 preconstruction and
construction assignments for clients that range in size up to $150,000,000.
The company recently completed several manufacturing, process and
laboratory expansions for pharmaceutical clients in Puerto Rico.
Our more recent projects include—
- Microbiology laboratory expansion
and MEP systems upgrades. All work is performed around existing
production operations
- RBM unloading/loading system installation consisting of
a building expansion, new HVAC equipment, utilities/process tie-ins
to existing operations, and robots installation
- Renovation and commissioning of an operating cGMP production
facility consisting of the installation of a new lyophilizer unit
and ancillary equipment, HVAC equipment, segregation of the existing
primary USP water loop from the parenteral lyo water system, and
installation of new purified water generation system.
- Renovation of
an active warehouse space to accommodate four new solid dosage
manufacturing suites and process support areas. Modifications to
the existing building included the demolition of the slab-on-grade
for new foundations, erection of structural steel to reinforce
existing structure and for new mezzanine and office level, new
HVAC and electrical distribution systems, and tie-in to existing
purified water loop.
- Upgrade and commissioning
of a plant DI and soft water systems, including a new building
to house USP generation/distribution equipment, and the construction
of a building expansion for a QA/QC laboratory
- Construction and commissioning
of a building expansion for a cGMP production facility for bulk
dispensing, including blending, granulation, contained tablet compression,
coating, tablet transfer station, and bin washer equipment. Tie-ins
to existing utilities such as chilled water and compressed air.
New USP water skid and distribution loop, and dust collection system.
- Construction
and commissioning of a new chiller building for two 1,400-ton chillers
and distribution loop, including new cooling towers and electrical
substations.
- Construction of a new medical device manufacturing facility
with class 10,000 clean room and raised floors, utility support
services including generators, air compressors, DI water, process
and house vacuum, gases, new chillers and air handling units, and
UPS.
- Fast-track
design/build building renovation for a new robotic assembly plant
and testing area, renovation of the central utility plant and MEP
systems.
- Construction, commissioning and validation of a new parenteral
manufacturing building with class 100, 10,000, and 100,000 areas.
Work included site utilities upgrades to increase capacity such
as new HVAC and process chillers, and WFI/RO equipment and distribution
loops. Renovation to existing building for prep/staging and warehouse/packaging
areas.
- Installation of two glass-lined reactors, borosilicate separation
bottle, diaphragm pump, feed tank, process piping and instrumentation
within a six-week schedule duration.
- Construction, commissioning and
validation of a manufacturing building for antibiotics with class
100 production area. Work included HVAC upgrades, new lyophilizers,
clean steam system, and process chillers.
