The Valley Hospital – Luckow Pavilion
The Luckow Pavilion—Ambulatory & Cancer Care Center
Paramus, New Jersey
The first facility to offer comprehensive ambulatory and cancer
care in Bergen and Passaic counties is complete. The Robert and
Audrey Luckow Pavilion in Paramus is a three-story, 128,000-square-foot
satellite facility of The Valley Hospital. The Luckow Pavilion
brings together all cancer treatments and other related services
from chemotherapy and oncology offices to radiation therapy and
an imaging salon, which also includes a PET scanner.
The ambulatory and cancer care center is home to the George R. Jaqua Same-Day Surgery Center and includes six same-day surgery suites and four procedure rooms with special provisions for pediatric patients. The Blumenthal Cancer Center provides radiation therapy, chemotherapy infusion, PET scanning, three linear accelerators, a CT simulator, oncology offices and therapy, and cancer prevention/detection programs. The PET scanning room required six-inches of lead reinforced walls to prevent radiation leakage and weeks of specialized installation.
The Valley Hospital Luckow Pavilion is an open design allowing lots of natural light in the perimeter offices and rooms and a beautiful slate pond/fountain was installed on the first floor lobby by master artists imported from Maine to provide tranquil atmosphere upon first entry. All finishes within the facility are of high-quality with soothing colors and textures, and special Bendheim glass.
Sheply, Bulfinch, Richardson & Abbot designed the Pavilion and Torcon was the construction manager. The project was recognized by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Concrete Institute and given The New Jersey Concrete and Aggregate Association’s Merit Award.
