St. Joseph's Healthcare
Critical Care Building
A new 230,000 square foot, four-story building that will house a larger ER with new operating rooms, as well as two levels of critical care areas including cardiac, surgical and medical intensive care units. The project was designed by Philadelphia's Frances Cauffman Architects and managed with the support of Sterling Barnett Little of Arlington, TX. The new building will have a ground floor emergency department with triage, fast track, trauma, acute care and pediatric services. The center will have separate entrances for ambulances, adult walk-in and pediatric walk-in patients. Torcon is also completing a fast-track car parking garage structure at the Paterson campus under a separate design/build contract.
Mennonite General Hospital-Expansion and Renovation
The program consists of the expansion and renovation of the hospital facility and the construction of a new multi-story parking structure. The project will add a new 142,500 SF four-story hospital wing with emergency room, maternity with neonatal intensive care units, a future cardiology wing, and 61 private patient rooms. Renovations will encompass 41,000 SF, with upgrades to the Hospital's kitchen, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, and intensive care areas. A new 129,650 SF parking building will also be constructed on site. Site utilities will be upgraded to supply the required loads. New HVAC equipment for the generation of chilled water will be installed to replace an existing air-cooled system.
Meridian Health System Ocean Medical Center Master Facility Plan
Construction of a 115,000 sq. ft. addition immediately adjacent to active Emergency Department. Expansion will provide a new expanded Emergency Department plus shell space on second floor. The facility is designed to have expansion capabilities to add an additional 3 floors in the future. All work phased to allow uninterrupted ED operations. Project also includes renovation of family health center, plus an integrated three-level enclosed link between the new building and the existing facility.
San Jorge Children’s Hospital Expansion
San Jorge Children's Hospital is an existing hospital facility, which is considered the best private children's hospital in Puerto Rico. The 53,000 sq. ft., four-story building expansion has the objective of providing a new and larger emergency and admissions areas, pediatric intensive care units, and additional beds. Project will include new hospital entrance, lobby and 33-bed emergency room on the first floor, an outpatient surgery center and 12-bed pediatric intensive care unit (ICU) on the second floor and a 22-bed pediatric oncology unit on the second floor. The building superstructure is a structural steel frame and a cast-in-place exterior wall. New chillers and AHUs will be installed in a two-story mechanical penthouse.
