Torcon Energy Services (TES) was commissioned by Mercedes-Benz USA to conduct a feasibility study for the replacement of metal halide fixtures located in the shipping and receiving department and the aisles of their parts distribution center in Robbinsville, NJ. TES evaluated a total of 361 fixtures that use approximately 742,000 kWh of electricity annually. TES proposed several potential lighting alternatives for consideration, including LED fixtures and induction lighting. The proposed solutions would not only save energy and reduce the annual maintenance cost for the fixtures, they would also produce better quality lighting in all of these areas.
