On May 17, 2017 the ribbon was cut and the new Creative Therapy Center and Healing Gardens at the Magee Rehabilitation Center was open.  The project was the creation of an non-traditional-hospital space on the sixth floor rooftop for patient treatment. All work was completed within an active hospital environment with no interruptions to care or services. The healing gardens and center for physical and occupational therapy will conduct sessions in a three-season therapy area, with outdoor spaces, to teach skills relevant to meaningful, active lives.

The inside of the 6th floor features an expanded and open atrium. The Resource Center and Art Therapy program now have a beautiful home, in a spacious new studio. Just outside the Art Therapy Studio are two Art Therapy Galleries featuring artwork created by Magee patients.
