Supporting the Good Work of Others

Torcon is a company that takes great pride in its continued support of community groups and organizations striving to improve the lives of others.

Throughout the year, Torcon is committed to making donations to many worthwhile organizations beginning with those listed below. We encourage all our industry friends to learn more about how these people are positively impacting the world around us, and consider supporting them as well.

Check back with us during the year to see how Torcon supports many other wonderful community groups and organizations.

Tanzanian Children’s Fund

The Tanzanian Children’s Fund is dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized children in the Karatu region of Northern Tanzania, providing a loving home and a life of opportunity for orphaned children. Today, 90 children lead happy, healthy lives at the Rift Valley Children’s Village. They are not up for adoption; the Children’s Village is their permanent family, nurturing them to become productive citizens and future leaders of Tanzania. To achieve long term success, TCF also seeks to strengthen the communities in which these children live, through a diverse range of programs that includes schools, medical clinics, micro-financing and community health education.

The Community YMCA Giving Tower 2015

The Community YMCA is a leading nonprofit in central New Jersey, committed to strengthening communities in the areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Torcon has been a long-time supporter of the Community Y and chairs an annual golf fundraiser for the organization.

Founded in 1874 in Red Bank, NJ, the Community Y now serves over 20,000 people in Monmouth County and beyond with life-changing programs that include afterschool care, diabetes prevention, early learning readiness, financial assistance, mentoring, summer camp, and therapeutic counseling.

The Y has had a tremendous impact on Monmouth County, but the community faces new challenges that create a greater need for the work they do. Torcon is pleased to support the Community Y and its Giving Tower campaign.

Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital

With over 90 years of service, the Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital specializes in rehabilitating children with mental and/or physical disabilities. The Hospital houses 25-30 children from low-income families in Puerto Rico that suffer from chronic and severe conditions.

The Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital also provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services to a population of 3,000 children that are registered under the Special Education Program of the PR Department of Education.

Torcon is proud to, once again, support this incredible service organization and the Hospital’s team of care givers.

Cooper Foundation Child Life Program

Cooper University Hospital is the leading provider of health services to Southern New Jersey and is a vital institution in Camden. Cooper University Health Care offers a network of comprehensive services. The Child Life Program at the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper University Hospital consists of a dedicated team of Child Life Specialists who understand that illness and hospitalization are stressful events in the lives of children and their families. Having a strong background in child development and family systems, Child Life Specialists use age-appropriate education, preparation, medical and therapeutic play, and supportive activities to support children facing challenging healthcare experiences.

Torcon is proud to be associated with Cooper University Health and to support the Hospital’s efforts to make the hospital experience a positive one for children and families
