Torcon Helping to Restore Asbury Park

Asbury Park has been a staple of the Jersey Shore for more than 100 years. The city was a favorite among generations of beach lovers and music fans before suffering through an enduring economic downturn. But over the past ten years, Asbury Park has been slowly uniting its historic past with modern upgrades and amenities. Asbury Park today is a legitimate hot spot with exciting bars and restaurants, and a growing population.

Torcon is working with Madison Marquette, a DC-based development company, on several projects along the Asbury Park Boardwalk, including restoration of the boardwalk’s four most iconic buildings–Convention Hall, Paramount Theater, Casino and Carousel Building, and Steam Plant.

Torcon is providing preconstruction estimating and scheduling services for the redevelopment to aid Madison Marquette’s project planning, cost modeling and phasing analysis. Today, we are helping plan essential repairs to the Convention Hall roof and building façade. Torcon is also replacing the Paramount Theater’s roof, to ensure the integrity of the building envelope and protect the spectacular interior architecture. Many exciting additional projects are anticipated.

Both Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

With our own company roots in New Jersey, Torcon is excited to be playing a role in the redevelopment of the renowned Asbury Park Boardwalk and to be working with Madison Marquette. We look forward to the continued rebirth and growth of the city and to helping revitalize these iconic buildings so they may continue creating new memories with future generations.
